Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at the Schenley Park Street Circuit

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix - Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, PA

Mark your calendars for the August 3/4 weekend in 2024 for one of the most unique automotive experiences ever! The signature event of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is our Race Weekend in Schenley Park and it should be on everybody’s bucket list. 125 vintage racers compete over city streets as 100,000 spectators watch the races and browse the car show, which contains 3,000 show cars, sponsor tents, vendors, a food court and a LiveStream stage.

There are too many activities to list everything on our calendar, so be sure to visit the Organizer's page to see everything going on during the weekend. One of our members attended last year and had such a great time he's going back this year. Let's get a big group of ODCC members to join the Corvette section of the car show this year:

Vintage Race: The highlight of the event is Sunday's vintage race through the city streets of Schenley Park. This circuit is considered by many drivers to be the most challenging race course worldwide. With 22 turns, 11 elevation changes, telephone poles, curbs, stone wall and numerous manhole covers, it’s no wonder the 2.33-mile circuit tests driving skills and entertains crowds. In addition to the "normal" vintage racers, there are two special treats this year, the Ragtime Racers (racing cars from 1920 and earlier) and Vintage Indy cars. For details of the Schenley Park race schedule, look here: https://pvgp.org/drivers/vintageraces-schenley/vintage-race-schedule/

Car Show: Nearly 3,000 cars – from all brands, on the golf course overlooking the vintage races. Some are museum pieces from around the world and others are rare and exotic. There are no prerequisites to be in the show, subsequently, you may find new and late model cars and even cars at different levels of restoration. We can exhibit our Corvettes there! Last year, Chevy had a tent near the Corvette show with various freebies available. For more details on the car show, look here: https://phttps://pvgp.org/schenley/vgp.org/schenley/

Charity Lap Experience: Rid along in a vintage racer on the track! For $50 per lap this is an experience you won't be able to duplicate easily. https://pvgp.org/drivers/charity-rides/

Much, much more. Visit the links above for details.

One more thing:  The Schenley Park events are for the weekend of August 3 and 4, but there are events going on for the entire week leading up to that, including vintage races of FAST cars at Pittsburgh International Race Complex (AKA PITT) the weekend before. It's the 60th reunion year for the Ford GT 40 and you'll get to see, and maybe get a ride-along in one. For the PITT schedule, look here: https://pvgp.org/pvgp-historic-races/schedule/

We have a block of (slightly) discounted rooms at the Wyndham Pittsburg University Center hotel. Block information will be provided to those who register on this page We'll leave on Friday morning, August 2nd for the drive to Pittsburgh. Tentative plans are to stop at Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water home on the way.

The event ends about 5:00 pm on Sunday, so you may want to stay Sunday night there, too, or just head straight home. Everyone can make their own choice. Some may want to go a week early to see the races at PITT and take part in the events during the week.
