Corvettes are awesome - our members are better!

Come for the cars. Stay for the friendships.

Welcome to the Old Dominion Corvette Club! Founded in 2005, our vision is based upon the promotion of, interest in, and sharing of knowledge about "America's Sports Car". We sponsor or participate in a variety of informal and formal local, regional and national activities. Our activities are open to all family members and we encourage and welcome everyone’s participation. Family-friendly activities include our monthly club meeting, judging events, car shows, local cruises, multi-day trips and our own annual Cruise-In. Our fund-raising benefits multiple local charities and the National Corvette Museum. We are a diverse group of young, old(er), single and multi-car owners, gear heads and not. We are people who like to have a good time and enjoy each other's company. Whether it's hitting up a winery on a gorgeous day, going on an ice cream run, a drive to an interesting location or a multi-day trip, we are ready to go!

Our 33rd annual Cruise-In was a smashing success, with nearly 150 Corvettes on site, including the new 2023 Z06! ODCC members recently purchased and delivered nearly $2,000 worth of Christmas presents and goodies for the children of families who need to take advantage of the services provided by the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS) Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault charity. LAWS normally has between 25 and 30 children using their services at any given time, but there is also usually a spike in need around the Holidays. LAWS is one of the three main charities that ODCC supports, and this was an especially apropos way to demonstrate the Christmas spirit. We set up a donation page on the website, and everyone opened their hearts and wallets and donated $870 towards the purchase of gifts. Other members really got in the Christmas spirit and procured and donated car themed coloring books, crayons, and Corvette T-shirts in a variety of sizes, along with lots of other Christmas goodies.

The annual December Chili Cook-off is our culminating event of the year, doubles as the December member meeting, and is a 16 year old tradition for the club. This year’s annual Chili Cook-off was graciously hosted again by one of our members in his beautiful home. Our host laid out enough food and munchies for an army, aside from all the chili, cornbread, and deserts brought by members. The event was well attended again this year, with about 45 members, family members, and guests attending. There was something for everyone. For the kids, the home theater room was screening the Christmas movie Elf for them to watch while the adults visited and held the December Member Meeting. For the adults, in addition to everything else, our host even provided a staffed bar with two dedicated and delightful bartenders!

Eight ODCC members in five Corvettes braved inclement weather to make the trip to the Biltmore Estate in November. They joined another 30+ Corvettes and their owners to see the historic home of George Vanderbilt all dressed up for the Holidays. The home itself is a modest little place, with 250 rooms (including 35 bedrooms and 43 bathrooms), spread over 175,000 square feet, four main floors, plus several levels of basement! There is even an indoor pool and bowling alley! The trip started early Friday morning where the group tracked South on US Route 29 through the rain. After stopping for a fantastic BBQ lunch at a diner packed with locals somewhere along the way, they finally made it to the hotel late in the afternoon. Upon their arrival, the parking lot was packed with 36 Corvettes ranging from C5s to C8s. On Saturday morning, everyone started rallying in the parking lot and warming up their cars around 5:45 A.M. The temperature at this point felt like it was about 10 degrees outside, but fortunately they had arranged coffee in the lobby. At around 6 A.M., they departed as a group and enjoyed the short, although lovely, drive up to the renowned front lawn of the estate. Upon arrival, and just as the sun was coming up over the hills, individual photos were taken outside the front door, as well as a group panoramic photo of all of the cars with the mansion in the background. In the.everyone enjoyed a candlelit tour of the mansion itself, where each room was decorated for the holidays. Musicians playing various instruments were scattered around the home and the experience of being there in the evening, with all of the fireplaces burning and decorations in place was something Andrea and I will always remember. Everyone made their way back to the hotel later that evening and said their goodbyes in the morning.
